Almost to the Finish Line

Well, tonight is the final night of kickball for the year.  It's been a fun time and even though we never win on the field, we always win at the bar.  We're not obnoxious or loud-mouthed.  We're the fun drunks, the kind who black out at 8pm but aren't falling or throwing up.  We play flip cup and win a lot and quack a lot.  We're the Mighty Drunks.

It took a lot of will power, but I refrained from signing up with my other friends for Skeeball.  I know it doesn't really matter, because I'll be there almost every Wednesday showing my support for them and just having fun, playing or not.  I'm just focusing on saving money for my next big trip and figuring out what to do with my apartment and moving, etc.  25 is coming in 4 days and I know it's going to be full of great things.

DISNEY TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In 1 Work Day and 2 Hours of Work

In that amount of (work) time, I will be with these people:

At this location:

Can you tell that I'm a little one-track minded recently?

I have to apologize about it actually, but ever since I went to Hilton Head and then came back to the same miserable series of events from before I left, I've been somewhat depressed about life.  The weekend was so great, but with the drama that K2's putting in my life right now, my current role assignment just being total crap, and other just home business, I am so stressed out.  Work days feel like they're 20 hours long, and I'm just pining for the moment I get to leave and go to fabulous locations with amazing people.

I had always vacationed when I was younger, but I was young and didn't have siblings, and didn't get to experience anything big and awesome like I currently get to do with my trips abroad, to beaches, Disney, etc.  (Not to mention, that as a child I lived an hour away from Disneyland and went there no less than 3 times a year.)  I love them and it doesn't surprise me that I live for vacation.  I could have spent every day for a month sitting in the sun under that cabana with a frozen strawberry banana daiquiri playing name that tune and learning the "shag" and not have been bothered one little bit.  (I would however have brought my tennis to work out this time.)  Hmm, I guess I'll just daydream about being back there until 5pm when it's time to leave........

In A Trance

Since I'm like total zone out girl today, I'll just leave you with this:

Sorry but I love this song and both video versions.  And hi, Enrique is HOT.

Oh, and a mini review of Occidental:

The restaurant was nestled in between no less than 4 metro stops, but I chose Metro Center.  It as a gloomy and rainy evening but inside the restaurant was nice quiet atmosphere, full of framed solo pictures or portraits of famous people, mostly politicians I think.

I asked the waitress what she would suggest, and to my annoyance she said, "Well our meat and fish are delicious and are very popular."  All that's on their menu (mainly) is meat and fish.  I was hoping for some more like...direction.

Katmcd and I decided to split the Cheese and Crab Fondue for an appetizer.  This was amazing and so filling but the crab meat was delicious.  They only brought out 5 little pieces of toast for this, and as katmcd is taking the 5th piece, she says, "Why would they only give you 5 pieces of toast for this entire bowl?"  In truth, it was a lot of dip.  No sooner did she finish that sentence, that someone brought out more toast saying how he saw that we were empty.  Random, but very nice.

katmcd had the NY Strip.  It looked very good, and thinking back, I wish I would have gone with my guy and got the Filet.  She said it was pretty good, but expected a bit more from presentation and sides or sauces.

I got the Rainbow Trout stuffed with Crab Meat.  The fish itself was pretty good and a lot of crab meat was given, but I admit that I'm a bit of a sauce person.  There were 2 on my plate, one orange one that I really didn't like, and one creamy white sauce that was over some peas and other beans, that was ok at best.

Maybe I was just too stuffed from the appetizer.  Overall it was a nice experience though.  I really enjoy trying different restaurants and food.  Happy birthday to katmcd and I!

Oh Sorority

Tonight is pref night at my alma mater, GW.  I was an ADPi there and still feel like that sorority changed my life.  probably around 60% of my current friends are ADPis (that's almost 5 years after we graduated college).  My little was a freshman when she came through, I was a senior, and now she's 21 and graduated and working.  We get to meet for cocktails and I get really confused about it.  I'm feeling kind of sad that I'm not there still living in the sorority house and running around campus like crazy prepping for class or for some random party we're having.  Watching the videos that have been posted from different recruitment nights, I get that butterfly feeling of going through recruitment and opening my bid day envelope.  I was only 17.  Did I mention that in 1 week I turn 25?  Holy crap time is flying.

Anyways, tonight is katmcd and I's joint birthday dinner, and this year it's at Occidental.  It looks delicious.  It's also the last week of kickball for the year, and Friday we're Disney World bound.  Yay!

It's Beginning to Feel a lot Like Fall

This weekend was simply fantastic.  Katmcd's bday celebrations went really well, with a few random moments one of which included a few of the guys we were with last night running into basically a brawl with a bunch of high school looking black kids beating up a homeless man.  And this was right at Front Page, right outside the Dupont Metro.  So weird.  I went and watched football with J Coupon today and YAY COWBOYS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm just watching my new boyfriend that I've just gotten into a relationship with on the Rams....James Laurinaitis....delicious.  (and he went to Ohio State, so I know katmcd would approve)

Shoe Dazzle!

I really try not to post twice in a day, but this is too good to pass up.  Over a year ago, a very good friend and coworker(at the time) told me about Shoe Dazzle

I just joined because I've been dying/stalking/waiting for them to offer size 11 shoes.  I'm tall, I have big feet, I'm used to it.  Every month, you get an email with 3 choices, usually shoes, but sometimes bags or jewelry, that has been customized with things you'd like. Kim Kardashian, whom I love, started this and still works on it with a team of stylists.  It's super cheap ($39.95/month) and you only pay if you choose a pair of shoes from them.  But seriously, $39.95 for these:

This is just a small sample.  I'm obviously in love.

Click here and get me referral points!  (You'll get an extra 20% off if you go through me for the first month!)

Call Me Snookie, or Snooks, or Snickers

Hilton Head was amazing.  We layed out, sat in fabulous cabanas with fruity cocktails, played in the waves, watched football, and had a fantastic time.

One of the things I did was I finally saw one of the Twilight movies.  It was New Moon, and it was showing at our resort outside.  Honestly, I could have done without the thousand of bug bites I now have, but the movie itself was pretty good.  I felt bad because I kept asking katmcd questions (bc she loves Twilight and has seen the movies) about things that happened in the first movie that I didn't understand.  I liked the movie, I need to see the other ones though.  One thing I don't understand is how she just hopped a flight from Seattle to Italy with no money and was there within like 12 hours.  I didn't get it.  But that's ok, because I liked the movie and I'm interested in seeing the rest.

Also, everyone on this vacation, and not just our group, but others also, LOVED beer koozies.  There was even a class/event at our resort for decorating your own koozie.  At the Ohio State bar we went to on Sat, they even gave them away.  Pretty sweet, no?

The Cowboys lost on Sunday to the Bears, and while MB is happy since she's a Bears fan, I was not.  But I just told myself that I was on vacation and since I didn't get to watch, that the game didn't actually happen.  Hahahaha.  And how did I do in fantasy?  I lost.  Badly.  In both leagues.

And the entire trip to Hilton Head can be summed in these four things:

Teen Mom:

Jersey Shore (they called me Snookie, Snooks, or Snickers all week/weekend):

Little Tiger Snooze:

Hide Your Wife, Hide Your Kids, Even Hide Your Husband:

Just a fabulous trip and Happy Birthday katmcd!

Must Be Driven by a Pirate Cuz the Board Says ARR

Tonight's kickball theme is hats.  I will be wearing my adu hat (see post here).  Most people just wear baseball caps.  These are some that I'd like to see:

Happy Thursday!

Also, please check this video out if you live in DC.

All Things Bachelor Related

So it occurs to me that I skipped out on telling you about my Friday night and Saturday night.

Saturday night I worked until 9 and then the rest is quickly recapped over at my friend katmcd's blog, and it includes a lot of flip cup and a run in with 4 contestants of the Bachelor/Bachelor Pad: Ashley(BP), Ashleigh(from Jake's season), Natalie(BP winner!), and Elizabeth(BP).   The side story to katmcd finding them is that I had actually heard Ashley on Elliot in the Morning on DC101 earlier in the week talking about getting a Boomerang Bus and partying around DC.  I knew they would be in DC, but I really dismissed it thinking there was no way they'd ever be where we were.  So wrong.  I actually talked to Ashley about this and she told me they couldn't get enough tickets sold, so they refunded everyone and told them to meet at 19th.  What are the odds?

Friday night was not too much of anything really.  I worked until 10 and then met katmcd, Doug Funny, MB, and K2 and the metro to go to a kickball friend's birthday over at Front Page.  It was ok, but it was kinda late and I wasn't drinking much.  We then wandered over to Big Hunt, and then went home.  Nothing too spectacular.

Tonight is an ADPi alum happy hour at my favorite restaurant....La Tasca.  Sangria, check.  Tapas, check.  Sisters, check.  My little has texted me and gchatted me 3 times just this week to double check that I'm coming.  I'm pretty excited about sangria getting back into my system.  Typically we go on Thursdays because they have half-price pitchers.  Tonight I'm not sure what their special is.  But that's ok.

Tomorrow is kickball night and then almost the weekend.  And really, I'm just counting the days until Hilton Head (3 for those counting with me).  Yay vacation!

Watch Out, I Can Kick Ass Now

Last night, Al, katmcd and I decided to give LA Boxing a try.  LA Boxing has been around for a while and they always offer a free first class.  I've wanted to try it for a long time, but was excited to finally do it.  All I needed to pay for was the hand wraps.  So we met up around 545 to purchase our wraps and they gave us a pair of gloves to use.  I guess if you go there as a member you're expected to purchase your own gloves.

The class itself was pretty good.  I thought I was going to die during the first 10 minutes of warm up.  It was really fast-paced and we didn't use our gloves right away.  Cardio, toning, and basically killing people was first.  By half-way through the class I was feeling a lot better and started having a lot of fun.  My arms were like spaghetti afterwards but I was pretty happy and the class just overall kicked my ass.

Then we went to talk to the guy about prices before we left.  HOLY SH*T.  The enrollment fee is $199, and montly payments are $120 per month if you contract for 1 year, and $94 per month if you contract for 2 years.   If you wanted to be awesome, and pay for a year in full, that would cost you a whopping $1488!  As much fun as I had in that class, and as great of a workout it was, I jut think those prices are incredibly high and really unreasonable.

So I tried it, I liked it, and I won't be doing it again.

An Open Letter to the Cowboys

Dear Dallas Cowboys,

I LOVE you.  I really do.  Every Sunday, I shower and get all dolled up and put on my Tony Romo jersey.  I put on a smile, grab a beer and joyfully anticipate the beat down of other teams.  However, I have some issues with you I feel I should address.

1. Please please start playing with some discipline.  I've had enough of these horrible penalties and I can't blame the refs when you blatently hold the other team, especially when there's 3 seconds left and we score the tying touchdown.

2. Stop coming from behind.  HEY, get your mind out of the gutter.  What I mean is, we need to take a lead, and keep it.  My heart can't take all of this "let's stage this awesome comeback with 1 minute left."

3. GET A KICKER.

4. Start winning.  I know it's just the beginning of the season, and even if you lose every game, I'll still remain a loyal fan, but I like winning.  I like when my team wins.  And being a Cowboys fan in the middle of Redskins country is hard, and it's easier when we win.

I think that's it for right now.  Like I said, please don't make me have a heart attack at a young age due to our lack in playing abilities and coordination.

All my love,
Sarg

I Blame J Coupon

So, J Coupon is a very good friend of mine.  We've known each other about 3 years and just get along really well.  He can be honest with me and vice versa.  He's engaged to A, now one of my good friends, and MB's college friend.  Anyways, after our fantasy draft at Baileys last night, he wanted to stay and have a few more beers.  Everyone(our friends) had left except for us so I sat with him and the other people there until 2am.  2am!  on a TUESDAY!  Needless to say I'm exhausted today.  And I have a hangover.  I'm working a suprise shift and then going to the pub for the pre-football party that we always go to.  I'll be late, and I'm sad about that, but like, extra work=extra money.  And since I'm Hilton Head bound next Saturday, I want to have a little reserve.

In other news, I haven't gotten 1 work email today.  What a joke.  Katmcd and I have been talking about our upcoming vacations and HH just looks gorgeous.  I've never been anywhere like it and I so enjoy that it'll be on the beach and relaxing and there's a full kitchen and it's just a beautiful looking hotel/villa.  I also was stalking Disney World for hotel and tickets and park hours, etc.  I'm officially vacation obsessed.

Tomorrow is kickball day and it's a beach theme.  I went to the Dollar Tree and bought katmcd and I some awesome ocean pets, but couldn't find much else.  Either way, GO MIGHTY DRUNKS!

Mean Girls, Best Friends Forever

Mike Posner for the win this morning. I've liked him from the beginning and katmcd and I meeting him in July was awesome. This is now katmcd's ringtone for when she calls me.

Normally I try not to post so many videos, but this Disney/Mean Girls Mash-Up is too good to pass up.

And finally, a video for the best wolfpack ever.

Is anyone else confused by what day it is?  Tonight I've got my second fantasy draft, but it should be interesting since it's at Bailey's for $2 draft night.  I haven't seen a few of these guys in 7 months, since the absurd creating of a facebook fight (which, we never did).  Kind of sad since MB won't be there bc she'll be flying back from Miami and K2 didn't join the league.  Anyways, I'm going into it with a positive attitude and since I know some other people who are fun will be there, I'm sure I'll have a great time and will have worried for nothing.  And...only 2 days til NFL kickoff!!!!!!

That's a Window, Not a Door

I slept 11 hours last night after working a few hours.  I also broke down and bought 3 new sweaters for fall yesterday.  They are so cute.  but I, like everyone else am ready to get into sweaters and flat boots.

Not much is going on around here though.  Friday night I went out with R, E Law, J Coupon, and Zig to Blackfinn.  R had won a VIP thing so we went.  J Coupon and I ended up staying until last call and we had a nice time, but I had the hangover of death for absolutely no reason on Saturday.  And, the funniest part of Friday night was J Coupon and I were sitting outside for a bit, and we saw this guy SLAM into the glass window.  Hi, it's not a door.  Honestly it was hilarious.  It's been in the 70s and so damn gorgeous the last two days.  Right now, I'm just sitting on my patio enjoying the weather.  I might be grabbing drinks with K2 a little bit later, but who honestly knows.  Kind of boring considering my last few nights and weekends.  Anyways, have an amazing Labor Day holiday.

Countdown to NFL kickoff: 4 days

Whipped Cream Bear Paw

So, what exactly is a whipped cream bear paw?

First, you put a pile of whipped cream in your hand (or bear paw).

       +

Then, you basically wipe someone in the face.  That is a whipped cream bear paw.  And it's what I received last night at kickball.

Kickball was a big blur.  I know I told katmcd at 8pm that I was totally wasted.  Just take a look at this email for proof (this event took place after we left the bar and were sitting at FB Metro stop):

"Best introduction ever:

Loud and obnoxiously drunk Sarg to fellow kick-baller: "HAVE YOU MET TOM?!?!"

Random kid I lived with first-year of college who just happened to be walking down the stairs of the Metro: "Yes, actually I have"

Sarg: "Who the fuck is he?"

I kinda pity her, she lives in the same building as him lol.
-- Tom"

This kid also had 26 cans of soup.

Panda Puppy?

How cute is this little guy?

Tonight is kickball and then a fabulous 3 day weekend.  Kind of 4 day since tomorrow is work from home Friday!  And how am I doing at work you ask?  Well I'm no longer texting that kid all day.  I have a mini assignment but I still think it's a joke.

Anyways, it's Thursday(for me Friday) so I'll leave with you something to look at.

Translator Requested

So yesterday and today, I've been texting with this one kid I met on Saturday night (the bar question from the previous post is something he said to me).  I seriously, need a translator for this dude.

Examples include, but are not limited to:
I'm playn hell with it
Go, that easy!
Then I stair at shiny things and get all kinds of confused
Yea, prolly should have said that huh
No weekend off and it was sunday night so we got monday morning off cause we believe here that the weekend is your time and watever is used we get it back

Ok...no punctuation, ridiculous spelling, run-on sentences.  There's also something to be said about a strong, confident man.  This isn't one of them.  He's very nice, kind of.  But I was just interested in hanging out with your group a bit, not dating or texting ALL DAY LONG.  Did I mention how ready I am for 5pm?

Also, today I'm sitting with my boss, and he says to me, "Well, I want to just make sure you're not bored."  "I am incredibly bored.  I have been bored for 6 months.  I have been telling you all that I have been bored this whole time.  Please give me work."

Happy hump day people!
