I've talked once or twice about my music taste and random obsessions that I have over songs. This isn't a new song by any means, but I heard it today on Elliot in the Morning on DC101 and downloaded it today and have been listening to it at least 10 times today. I just imagine that I would be at a huge party dancing around, drinking, and losing myself.
Speaking of random things that I like, have you seen Up? That movie is FUCKING HILARIOUS. The part where they meet the talking dog Doug? RIDICULOUS.

Like a Duck
I'm just sitting here, calm on the surface, but really anxious and busy and crazy under the surface. My new role has been nutso. It feels like I've been on this project for weeks, but it's only been 4 working days. It's honestly so great though. I feel totally different about work than I did, even from just a month ago. I knew work could feel like this.
There's a lot going on and I think I can just honestly say how happy I am that this year is coming to a close.
Last night, katmcd and I went to see Brandon Flowers in concert at the 930 club.
I love him with the Killers, and I've seen them in concert before. But I really didn't know much of his stuff. It was a really great concert. I love watching him perform and I really liked his solo music. We were standing on the balcony up against the rail and some bitch asked katmcd if she could move down. She said, "uhm, no, I've been here since 7pm so I could have a spot." That girl was rude and we just stood there. Somehow, we also ended up above what I dubbed as "couples corner." When we looked down from the balcony, everywhere was couples. Some were cute, some were just bizarre, and others were flat out tanked. I don't know, I just felt a little sad watching them though. It's probably just the holidays, and I can drink that sadness away.
In other news, this weekend katmcd and I are driving to VA Beach for the Surf N' Santa 10-Miler. We had so much fun at the Army 10-Miler that we decided to do another. No pressure, it's not about the running time, it's just about completing it and really enjoying being there. Then we'll party that night and head home on Sunday. I've never been to VA Beach and I think it'll just be super fun.
I cannot believe that it's December.

I Love the 90s
God I really love music of the 90s. I don't know why. I mean, I love music of the late 80s too, but I'm just feeling like getting down to some awesome tunes in the form of these fine songs:
Roxette-It Must Have Been Love
Duran Duran-Ordinary World
Tiffany-I Think We're Alone Now
Sinead O'Connor-Nothing Compares to You
REM-Losing My Religion (really I love love anything REM)
Starship-We Built This City
Bonnie Tyler-Total Eclipse of the Heart
Soft Cell-Tainted Love
Aha-Take On Me
I'm hoping that at some point I get to rock out in my costume to a few of these fine jams.

Old School Tunes
I happen to have this weird obsession with music and have about 100+ mix cds. I have rules such as, no one artist can be on the cd 2 songs in a row, and I have to have a seriously awesome song that I'm totally loving as #1 on the cd. I'm weird, I know. I also love when I throw in old mixes into my cd player for me to listen to. Anyways, this morning I got in the car, the cd switched over to #4 and the first song on the cd was Tube and Berger-Straight Ahead. I'm 99% sure not many people have heard this song. It stems from high school, when I was friends with a group that loved techno, trance, house, etc. I had always liked that kind of music, but now I got to appreciate it with people. Anyways, I made this cd probably circa 2000 and it proved for a great wake up call this morning. I hope someone will appreciate my random music taste. (just to throw it out there, I actually love all types of music: rock, r&b, rap, pop, techno, trance, foreign, reggaeton, country, jazz, classic....everything)

In A Trance
Since I'm like total zone out girl today, I'll just leave you with this:
Sorry but I love this song and both video versions. And hi, Enrique is HOT.
Oh, and a mini review of Occidental:
The restaurant was nestled in between no less than 4 metro stops, but I chose Metro Center. It as a gloomy and rainy evening but inside the restaurant was nice quiet atmosphere, full of framed solo pictures or portraits of famous people, mostly politicians I think.
I asked the waitress what she would suggest, and to my annoyance she said, "Well our meat and fish are delicious and are very popular." All that's on their menu (mainly) is meat and fish. I was hoping for some more like...direction.
Katmcd and I decided to split the Cheese and Crab Fondue for an appetizer. This was amazing and so filling but the crab meat was delicious. They only brought out 5 little pieces of toast for this, and as katmcd is taking the 5th piece, she says, "Why would they only give you 5 pieces of toast for this entire bowl?" In truth, it was a lot of dip. No sooner did she finish that sentence, that someone brought out more toast saying how he saw that we were empty. Random, but very nice.
katmcd had the NY Strip. It looked very good, and thinking back, I wish I would have gone with my guy and got the Filet. She said it was pretty good, but expected a bit more from presentation and sides or sauces.
I got the Rainbow Trout stuffed with Crab Meat. The fish itself was pretty good and a lot of crab meat was given, but I admit that I'm a bit of a sauce person. There were 2 on my plate, one orange one that I really didn't like, and one creamy white sauce that was over some peas and other beans, that was ok at best.
Maybe I was just too stuffed from the appetizer. Overall it was a nice experience though. I really enjoy trying different restaurants and food. Happy birthday to katmcd and I!

Mean Girls, Best Friends Forever
Mike Posner for the win this morning. I've liked him from the beginning and katmcd and I meeting him in July was awesome. This is now katmcd's ringtone for when she calls me.
Normally I try not to post so many videos, but this Disney/Mean Girls Mash-Up is too good to pass up.
And finally, a video for the best wolfpack ever.
Is anyone else confused by what day it is? Tonight I've got my second fantasy draft, but it should be interesting since it's at Bailey's for $2 draft night. I haven't seen a few of these guys in 7 months, since the absurd creating of a facebook fight (which, we never did). Kind of sad since MB won't be there bc she'll be flying back from Miami and K2 didn't join the league. Anyways, I'm going into it with a positive attitude and since I know some other people who are fun will be there, I'm sure I'll have a great time and will have worried for nothing. And...only 2 days til NFL kickoff!!!!!!

Push the Button
So today is Tuesday. Typically I have my company softball league on Tuesdays, but tonight is the last game for my fun non-company league so I'll be going to that. Last night after work I was texting and getting in my car and my phone repeadetly shut off and restarted. This is actually a common occurance with my phone and this is now the 2nd time I've had to replace it. I have the Motorola Backflip and don't have a clue why I switched away from Blackberry. I cannot wait to get a new BB. My little from sorority days is actually staying with her friend, randomly enough in my apartment building, until she moves into her new place this weekend. She came up for a quick glass of wine and to vent about stuff. I <3 her. <> love.
Also, what would you think if some guy told you that he didn't like crowded bars?
1. what bar isn't crowded?
2. if it's not crowded, it's probably SUPER boring.
3. I guess we won't be hanging out because I go to bars....a lot.

You Don't Look 30, You Look...Uhm, 28
I got home at 2:30 this morning. I feel like this:
But I have to get through the day. Softball was Ok. We won, but it's hard with so many people coming out to games now. Then we went to the pub and drank and ate some dinner. Everybody kind of left all together and me, J Coupon, and Zig were left. Just like old times.
Tonight I'm skipping the bar for kickball (since we have a bye week this week) and heading to the gym and then home to sleep. Or duh...watch Jersey Shore! Let the fist pumping begin.
Also, mud run....t minus 2 days. FML.

Mike Posner
Mike Posner

katmcd and I spent all day at Warped Tour today. Mike Posner performed earlier in the day and then we saw him again at his signing tent. We didn't get anything signed but stood at an awkwardly close distance and took a pic. But we were walking out of the venue, and there he was. He was so nice, took a pic with both of us and even took off his sunglasses. Super nice.
